Congratulations to our Mentor volunteer Tejiri Inikori for receiving the Queens Civic Responsibility Award. Tejiri has not only been a volunteer with us over the past year, but she has been a leader at Queens and in our community.
Tejiri, is truly exceptional due to her unwavering commitment to her academic studies, and her remarkable ability to inspire the youth of our community. Her passion for service and her determination to make a difference in our community makes her a positive role model for all of us.
We are all very proud of Tejiri and grateful to have Tejiri volunteer with Youth Diversion. #volunteers #ygk #queenscivicrespnsibility

There are moments in life that quietly redefine us—brief flashes where, even for a second, we can see beyond the hurt, the trauma, and the isolation we’ve carried. In those moments, possibility comes into focus, and yes, even hope.
Earlier this week, one of our longest-standing clients was given a rare, life changing opportunity to step into the world of the trades. The significance of this cannot be overstated. This single experience has the potential to open doors that once felt out of reach. It’s moments like these that fuel us, reminding us why we do this work and giving us the energy to continue guiding our youth toward their next steps in success. A huge shoutout to the @summitsistersroofing for making this happen. #trades #future #ygk #Resilience

What a pleasant surprise this past Friday when the amazing folks from the @rclbranch560 presented us with a cheque in the amount of $1000 towards our #kidscantwait initiative in support of our prevention programs. This cheque and these funds, when viewed through the lens of prevention, has a value for us in the amount of $10,000. We can't thank you enough for your support and all that you do for our community.

The @foodbankktown came through for us in a big way yesterday. We were just about empty before Dan and his team came through for us. Dozens of eggs and can food, breakfast options as well as school snacks are now occupying our food pantry. #communitysupport #ygk #foodsecurity

A major funding announcement took place yesterday at Memorial Hall in support of the Unnamed Youth Project. The @cfkingstonarea through the Sisters of Providence Fund is granting $550,000 over 3 years to support the Unnamed Youth Project. This investment into our children and youth will focus on establishing prosocial opportunities and identifying other areas of need as prescribed by the youth themselves. These funds will be split between @kingstoncommunityhealthcentres @kflaph to oversee the direction of this project. A special thank you to the following supporters as we would not be here if not for you
@rotaryclubkingstonon
@ckrotary
@city.of.kingston
@pathwayskingston
@cfkingstonarea
@kflaph
A special shout out to Anne Marie MacDonald, Stephanie Wight, Colin Baillie, Rachel Wong, Bridget Glassco, Roger Romero and Xavier Farrell for rolling up your sleaves over the past 18 months and never doubting that we'd get to this point. Lastly, and most importantly, the over 300 children and youth in KFLA who have provided their voice in the design of the Unnamed Youth Project.
Please join us on this journey in helping children and youth overcome challenges
