Program Description

Kairos is a counselling service which specializes in treatment for youth with alcohol and other drug problems as well as gambling, gaming and internet problems.  The service is available as an outreach program in all local elementary and secondary schools, as well as alternative education sites amd group homes.

Treatment is based on a harm reduction approach.  Staff help clients to identify the impacts of their behaviours in various aspects of their lives, and encourage clients to help develop their own treatment goals.  Assessment services are also available to assist clients who may require residential treatment.

Staff also share their expertise through public education sessions and professional development for staff of other agenices.
