Meeting of the Membership Feb 13 2018
February 2, 2018 at 7:30am at the Youth Diversion Program office
Good Morning Folks:
Recently, Youth Diversion was provided notice that its long time Chartered accountant, Davis and Associates, was changing direction and would no longer be our chartered accountant. The Board tasked the Finance Committee to open an RFP process to search for a new accountant. After a thorough search and review, the Finance Committee settled on Wilkinson & Company. Wilkinson & Company was founded in 1964 and has 11 partners and more than 60 professional staff who offer an extensive array of professional services from Kingston, Belleville and Trenton. Wilkinson & Company has a strong understanding of non-profit and the reporting requirements to both funders and the CRA. The Finance Committee brought the recommendation to the Board of Directors who approved the appointment of this firm in principal awaiting final approval from Youth Diversion’s Membership.
In keeping with our Board Bylaws which state:
“A chartered accountant shall be appointed at the Annual General Meeting of the corporation for the purposes of reviewing the accounts or conducting an audit. The remuneration of the auditor shall also be set.” The Youth Diversion Program Board of Directors invite you to attend a special general meeting to discuss the ratification of the agency’s proposed new Auditor and to set the new fee.
The definition of a member of Youth Diversion is as follow:
The membership shall consist of full members and associate members. Full members have voting privileges, and shall include the Board of Directors and current volunteers of the program who have been volunteers for at least one year.
Membership Bylaws state that members are provided with notice 10 days prior to the special general meeting. The Meeting will be held at the Youth Diversion Program offices on February 13, 2018 at 7:30am. Please RSVP to Jackie Franklin firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your eligibility and attendance.
Thank you ,
Shawn Quigley, Executive Director
