COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING SPECIALIST SUMMER STUDENT POSTION

Part time, contract position, 30 hours per week for 7 weeks

Rate of pay: $12/hour

Start Date: July 10, 2017

End Date: August 25, 2017

 

Please note that the successful candidate must be between 15-30 years old and returning to school in the fall. Preference will be given to College and University students in marketing, advertising, sales or business administration, communications or journalism or equivalent.

This position reports to the Executive Director.

 

Job Description: The Community Development and Marketing Specialist will oversee the successful implementation of Youth Diversion’s marketing strategy that would include increasing our social media presence and enhancing our profile in the community. It is anticipated that these outcomes will increase our ability to reach more youth at risk and their families in the community.

Duties:

  • Implement the existing Youth Diversion Marketing Strategy
  • Build and manage our social media profiles and presence
  • Produce a promotional video
  • Promote events and activities hosted by Youth Diversion
  • Actively participate on our Donor Stewardship committee
  • Provide market research supporting any suggestions of new marketing and/or communications initiatives
  • Conduct ongoing brand management
  • Oversee the development, management and maintenance of all online communication vehicles including the Youth Diversion website
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Exceptional command of the English language
  • Experience in creating and executing several types of marketing strategies
  • Excellent understanding and familiarity with brand management
  • Direct experience with graphic design, website management, marketing software tools including video editing and producing
  • Highly effective project management, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs
  • Energetic, self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Politically and culturally sensitive
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations

Working Conditions:

  • Some travel may be required
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
