The Youth Diversion Program believes that all members of our community have the responsibility to provide all youth with the opportunity to develop and grow to their fullest potential.

Mission Statement

The Youth Diversion Program works in partnership with the community to deliver quality programs to assist youth to make positive changes in their lives and at the same time to take responsibility for their actions.

Youth Diversion embarks on a new initiative

Following up on research conducted in 2004 the Program has began a new approach to better serve the needs of victims.  Funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation has enabled the Victim Support Worker position.

Volunteer opportunity

SNAP, Alternative to Home Suspension

This Program provides youth  who are suspended from school with an opportunity to continue their education and learn appropriate skills. Volunteers are asked to commit to 2 hours a week, either 8:30am to 10:30am or 10:30am to 12:30pm.

Benefits to volunteering: Mandatory free training, attend our monthly dynamic workshops, hands on experience working with at risk youth, meet other volunteers from all over the world, valuable and transferable experiences, on going staff support, open door policy to the Executive Director, evaluations, volunteer appreciation gala, letter of reference, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
